Projects and Miscellaneous Items:
Tee and approach aerification is the name of the game this week for the maintenance team. We will be using solid "star" tines, the same used on the fairway aerification. Last week we top-dressed the tees and approaches to give them a smooth surface; now we will be opening up the canopy so that the air can penetrate the soil profile and improve root growth. These cultural practices not only help the grass to grow, they also help in preventing disease and poor soil conditions.
